U.S. Hikes EB-5 Visa Processing Costs From November, 30, 2026

The United States is increasing its fees for petitions filed under its EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program.  The increased fees go into effect for all petitions filed on or after November 30, 2026. The revised fee will substantially increase the government filing costs for foreign nationals seeking permanent residency through investment.

What Is the U.S. EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program?

Established in 1990, the U.S. EB-5 program allows eligible foreign investors to seek permanent residency by investing in a qualifying U.S. business and creating at least 10 full-time jobs for US workers.

The minimum investment is $1.05 million for a standard investment or $800,000 for an eligible Targeted Employment Area (TEA) or infrastructure project.

Investors may apply independently or through a USCIS-approved regional centre. Eligible applicants may also include a spouse and unmarried children under 21 in their Green Card applications.

If you’re new to the EB-5 program, our complete EB-5 Visa Requirements Guide covers investment thresholds, job creation rules, and eligibility criteria in detail.

The EB-5 Government Fees – Comparative Table

The new USCIS fee structure will raise the cost of several investor petitions and regional centre applications.

Revised EB-5 Investor Filing Fees

Application FormCurrent FeeNew Fee From November 30, 2026
Form I-526, standalone investors$3,675$7,615
Form I-526E, regional centre investors$3,675$7,850
Form I-829, removal of conditions on permanent residency$3,750$5,000
Form I-527, certain amendments to legacy I-526 petitionsNo fee$10,330

Additional charges: The revised fees for initial Forms I-526 and I-526E include a $75 technology fee. Regional centre investors must also pay the separate EB-5 Integrity Fund fee, which will increase from $1,000 to $1,100.

Form I-527 introduces a $10,330 fee for certain investors seeking to amend legacy Form I-526 petitions.

Regional Centre Fees Will See Steep Increases

The revised fee structure will also significantly affect organisations operating within the EB-5 regional centre system.

Application FormCurrent FeeNew Fee
Form I-956, initial regional centre designation$17,795$44,115
Form I-956F, investment project approval$17,795$42,675
Form I-956G, annual regional centre statement$3,035$2,165

Regional centre investors face the steepest fee increases under this revision — our article on The Role of the Regional Center in Your EB-5 Journey explains how to choose the right centre and what due diligence looks like.

Additional charges: The annual filing fee ufor Form I-956G will decrease by $870. These changes are part of the broader revision of the program’s administrative and compliance fee structure.

Why Is the U.S. Increasing EB-5 Visa Fees?

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) relies largely on application fees to fund its operations. These charges cover application processing, background checks, eligibility verification, fraud prevention and program administration. The revised fee structure aims to better reflect the cost of administering the EB-5 program.
