The United States is increasing its fees for petitions filed under its EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program. The increased fees go into effect for all petitions filed on or after November 30, 2026. The revised fee will substantially increase the government filing costs for foreign nationals seeking permanent residency through investment.
What Is the U.S. EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program?
Established in 1990, the U.S. EB-5 program allows eligible foreign investors to seek permanent residency by investing in a qualifying U.S. business and creating at least 10 full-time jobs for US workers.
The minimum investment is $1.05 million for a standard investment or $800,000 for an eligible Targeted Employment Area (TEA) or infrastructure project.
Investors may apply independently or through a USCIS-approved regional centre. Eligible applicants may also include a spouse and unmarried children under 21 in their Green Card applications.

Regional Centre Fees Will See Steep Increases

Additional charges: The annual filing fee ufor Form I-956G will decrease by $870. These changes are part of the broader revision of the program’s administrative and compliance fee structure.
Why Is the U.S. Increasing EB-5 Visa Fees?
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) relies largely on application fees to fund its operations. These charges cover application processing, background checks, eligibility verification, fraud prevention and program administration. The revised fee structure aims to better reflect the cost of administering the EB-5 program.
