The UK Government to Welcome More International Students and Researchers

The UK government has decided to make the immigration rules much liberal, after considering the fall in the percentage of international students and researchers enrolling in the UK universities.

In the past years, UK has noticed a fall in the student’s visa applications because of its unwelcoming visa rules.

Now with the reformation in the immigration rules, Indian students can work in the UK for a period of 5 years after their studies under Tier 2 category (Work Permit).

Tier 2 general is for skilled workers with a job offer from a UK-based employer, which is valid for a maximum period of 5 years 14 days with an extension of one year and can apply for settlement visa after 5 years.

The Home Office shall broaden the scope of a pilot scheme in which visa rules have been relaxed for students who are planning to go for master’s course at the prestigious universities like Oxford, Cambridge.

Recently, the UK government implemented a few changes in the visa policy for non-EU (European Union) nationals. This policy will have a positive impact amongst many Indians.
