Visa to be issued to Parents of Pakistani boy apprehended by BSF: Sushma Swaraj

Sushma Swaraj, the External Affairs Minister of India announced to grant visa to the parents of a 12-year-old boy who is believed to be from Pakistan and is abandoned in Faridkot Observation Home, Punjab after being detained by the Border Security Force (BSF) in May 2017.

Mehr Tarar, a Pakistani journalist drew Swaraj’s attention to the boy, Hammad Hassan, who went missing from Sialkot a couple of months ago. As a response to it, the External Affairs Minister tweeted that India is awaiting Pakistan’s confirmation about the nationality of the boy. Also, if the boy’s parents accept that he is their son, India is ready to give them visa to visit India and meet him.

Swaraj also tweeted that apart from the boy, there are five other Pakistani nationals in a transit camp at Amritsar of whom Pakistan is yet to confirm the nationality.  (Source: http://bit.ly/2AAHtUX)
